Tai Tarian (formerly NPT Homes) is a Welsh housing association based at Baglan Energy Park, just off J41 of the M4. They are one of the largest social housing providers in Wales and own more than 9000 properties across Neath Port Talbot.
PAI originally installed audio-visual and conference systems for Tai Tarian as part of the office fit out for the newly built head office, Tŷ Gwyn on Brunel Way.
Due to the new remote working practices implemented due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we were invited to embellish the systems by developing a scheme to integrate Microsoft Teams functionality to the two large function rooms.
These spaces already benefited from large screen projection systems, audio and basic control systems. To maximise cost efficiency, our proposals centred around reusing as much of this audio-visual equipment as possible.
Therefore, much of this was retained and integrated into the new solution, with a more comprehensive Crestron touchscreen control system provided for enhanced user operation of the various technology.
Additional Avonic PTZ cameras, Biamp Tesira® beamtracking microphones, DSP (digital sound processor) server and a dedicated AV bridge were integrated to enable two-way communication from the conference rooms to staff working remotely.
PAI also included a multi format presentation switcher and wallplate range extenders to enable the simple operation of the two rooms either independently, or as one larger space when required.
The touchscreen was programmed by an in-house Crestron certified engineer in line with Tai Tarian’s brand identity, with the corporate logo used as the welcome page of the graphic user interface (GUI).
A menu driven approach was applied, which included controls for the projection screens, projectors, cameras, HD signal distribution, sound system and room division.
The client is extremely happy with the finished results and was very complimentary with regard to the quality of the installation and the simplicity of use for the entire scheme.
