PAI has completed the installation and commissioning of audio-visual systems for ITV Cymru Wales at their new headquarters at 3 Assembly Square in Cardiff Bay.
The public service broadcaster expects to move from Culverhouse Cross to their new CF10 premises, which covers 11,000 square foot of ground floor space, in June. Around 100 ITV staff will be based within the modern, landmark office building, which will house all of ITV Cymru Wales’ news, programmes and production facilities.
Following the success of previous work for KPMG, who also occupy part of Assembly Square’s Grade A office space, PAI was invited to the project by Paramount Interiors to provide technical solutions for the client’s various AV requirements.
Eight individual spaces – including the boardroom, news desk, reception, offices and breakout areas – received 16 wall mounted Panasonic Viera LED Smart TVs, with a combination of 32”, 39”, 46”, 47” and 60” models fitted throughout. IPTV receivers were also configured at each location.
Additionally, RCF PL8X recessed ceiling speakers and a slave audio amplifier were installed within the boardroom to provide background audio. Meanwhile, a Panasonic soundbar 2:1 audio booster was provided for the news desk.
A 4000 lumen full HD projector, 2.1m retractable electric screen in 16:9 format, plus a laptop/HDMI floor box connection panel complete with dedicated cabling, were amongst the specialist AV products supplied in the breakout area. An AMX eight-button controller and discrete cabinet loudspeakers completed the install.
All systems were later commissioned by PAI engineers ahead of project handover.
The new state-of-the-art office environment will aid ITV Cymru Wales in strengthening their presence in Wales, whilst offering the public service broadcaster the perfect base from which to continue to produce award-winning journalism and programmes for the nation.
