voco St David’s Hotel, Cardiff (an IHG hotel) recently appointed PAI to design, supply and install new background music systems to two suites, associated breakout areas, as well as its external balcony terrace.
The prestigious hospitality venue, which boasts fabulous views over Cardiff Bay, tasked PAI with developing proposals and implementing solutions to significantly enhance the hotel’s audio quality and atmosphere for guests and visitors.
For the Penarth Suite and Waves Suite, PAI supplied and installed a new multi-zone amplifier. This has been paired with discrete, flush fitting ceiling loudspeakers to provide even audio coverage throughout each space.
The amplifier has the facility to connect a microphone for event hosts and speakers. Both suites also benefit from independent volume controls, allowing room users to easily adjust the audio level to suit the nature of any event.
Externally, the hotel’s Terrace has reopened for outside drinks and dining. This prime hospitality space now benefits from a new background music system incorporating weatherproof loudspeakers.
The TOA F-2000 Series Speakers, which feature a waterproof design meeting the IPX4 standard, have been installed underneath the balcony to make them less conspicuous and offer some protection from the elements.
All music has been specially curated for voco St David’s Hotel, Cardiff by Open Ear, giving the venue its own ‘musical brand identity’.
